Welcome to Sant Antoni

Sant Antoni has been one of the neighbourhoods with the greatest transformation in the last decade. The comprehensive renovation of the Mercat de Sant Antoni (2018) and the pedestrianisation of its surroundings drove up prices and demand. It still maintains some upside compared to more mature areas of the Eixample.

A long-standing neighbourhood mix combined with a new generation of bars, restaurants and proximity commerce. A young and dynamic community.

An Urban Legacy: History and Evolution

Origin and market

Sant Antoni was born with the expansion of the Eixample in the 19th century. The Mercat de Sant Antoni (1882) is one of the most emblematic in Barcelona, with its characteristic Greek cross plan and Roman remains in the basement.

Market renovation

After 9 years of works (2009-2018), the market reopened completely renovated. It coincided with the pacification of nearby streets and the massive arrival of new businesses.
